Anyone using this? Is it good? I live in a safe, wealthy (and rather boring) neighbourhood. It would be nice to know the neighbours.
Can I remain relatively anonymous? Or am I going to get bombarded with messages from my neighbours trying to sell me life insurance or sign petitions for nonsense?
or milfs, perhaps
I wanted to find something like this a year or so ago when we were having some increased crime on our street. Everyblock used to be popular but I think it got shut down.
you can remain relatively anon. just put in your street not your actual address.
I've been on it daily for about 6 months now. Sold a bunch of stuff and gave away a bunch too. easier than craigslist since everyone is nearby.
Stay completely out of the BS drama that the stay-at-home moms get in to. Some people love a witch hunt anytime they see a suspicious person in the neighborhood they start posting like a bunch of twats, ignore that shit.
So yeah if you like to be notified of second hand stuff for sale (which I do) then do it. I also started a running group in the neighborhood which is cool.
Oh yeah and don't make fun of people who constantly post about lost cats or dogs. Mods don't appreciate you pointing out that they are most likely Coyote dinner.
My neighborhood is similar in that it's a bit wealthy and family friendly. Here is an example of some of the current threads:
Guessing you found it off my reference in another thread? I use it. Not many people do in my hood, but my hood is "hood". I hear it gets used more often in "nice" neighborhoods.
