I'm down with a Jack Russell or a Boston Terrier. Athletic dogs that love to run and are good companions. Trained properly they can get along great with house guests. Most small dogs are very territorial of their home and bark/nip/bite at anyone they consider 'intruders' to their home. There's a ton of shit you're supposed to do to a puppy to train them to not have possession over anything. Like while you feed them as a puppy you're supposed to take the food away, touch their paws as they eat, grab some food from the dish as their eating. It's crazy what my sister did with her Boxer to train it but damn... it's the most behaved dog I've ever seen and I don't think I've ever heard it bark unless she tells it to speak.
