I had a rottie for awhile.. great dog.. A dog for protection is a bad idea.. I was always scared of the dog as a liability. I was screwed if that dog bit somebody.. they sue the hell out of me.. my dog actually hurt somebody.. my dog will also get put to sleep for attacking somebody.. oh yeah.. good luck getting insurance.. we tried to change our homeowners and they found out we had a rottie... nobody would give us insurance.. we have a english bulldog.. she is good city dog.. they don't need much exercise.. people are still scared of them.. not sure why.. they are very nice dogs.. stupid.. at least ours is.. you really understand the "bull headed" saying after owning one..
