    hey jox, if you want to help one of Europe's rarest dog-breeds, look for a Castro Laboreiro. It's the most wholesome friend and endures rough weather. It's not easy to get one, since they are few, and on the brim of extinction. It would be nice having people looking for these forgotten sort. This northern Pt breed is one of the few natural dog breeds in Europe (it was accepted in international standards in 1966), i think. It's a shepherd dog native to the northern region of Portugal bordering Galicia in Spain. It's a "natural" breed because that tract of land and mountain was so isolated for so many years, that it produced a rare kind of in-bred shepherd dogs with exceptional familial qualities. They look plain, but are the family strong-hold:
