    i think it's interesting how negative some people are about this event. it's such a harmless thing but everyone seems to have built SOME kind of wall in their minds against it, often based on insufficient or incorrect information.

    the bottom line is it's a celebration of art and creativity (that should be enough for a designer), it's a party like no other, and you can get pretty much anything you want out of it. the hot naked girls are a plus (the naked guys, not so much) and the culture at black rock city is a welcome break from the typical. there really is nothing to dislike about it unless you hate camping, heat, or dust, in which case you can just rent an rv and pretend you're still living your everyday life and still have your precious tv or whatever.

    but anyway, that's my two cents. i say try it at least once; the experiment alone of living in a different way for a week is reason enough to try it, it really makes you question the way things are run in the "normal" world. you get the impression that we have not only been separated from each other but from ourselves, our (often untapped or denied) skills (which are sold back to us), and from what it's like to celebrate humanity for humanity's sake.
