It seems like a desperate, ridiculous purchase, but when you look at the numbers, not as ridiculous.
Bought at $16bn, that is $42/user. When they bought Instagram it was $33/user. More, but not absurdly higher and the growth of Wapp is incredible.
Google offered $10bn recently, others were looking at those numbers too.
So some smart people thinking that it really is worth that. Crazy how it simply becomes a numbers/exposure game. No one has any idea what happens in 10 years.
