I don't get why this happened, really. What would anyone have to gain with shooting down a Malaysian civilian aircraft?
I'm hoping — if it really was shot down — it was an accident from either side of the Ukraine conflict; something like, the plane went slightly off course whilst there was some exchange of fire, and it was a 'stray bullet', so to speak. If that's the case, though, I don't expect either side to own up to it.
But I really hope it was just an awful coincidence. Something wrong with the aircraft, and it happens to go down in one of the world's hotspots.
