Strangely, my sister died 4 years ago from ALS which is extremely rare. But I don't get how well this campaign is working for the cause. I suppose some donations are better than none and playing to people's need to show off on social media can often take off. But I wish the reach was more educational instead of a meme like joke.

I've noticed (also noted in another post) that the call to action is weak or nonexistent. I've have several people (most that do not know how much experience I have with the disease) ask what it was and if they should participate and they still have no idea what ALS is or that this is a fundraising drive. Most don't bother to look it up.

    • Terrible that the creator of the campaign died though that is tragic.shellie
    • sorry to hear that Shellie, I hope that most of the money will go to the cause, but I wouldn't count on this.. sighGeorgesII
    • That's what I am worried about. Most can afford the special computers that read eye movements so they can speak. My sister got one only months b4 she died.shellie
