That's pretty close to what I am using now, plus Dell's 30" (amazing monitor).
I've added a 2TB SSD drive, but that's about it.There's nothing you need to "keep it running", it pretty much just works. It's been many, many years since windows "crashed" (my only real memories of using Macs were the crashing and ridiculous startup times).
I haven't reformatted a drive in over a decade. Not a bad idea, of course, but certainly don't think you need to.
