- If you use pirated stuff, at least bu buy an original OS. It'll make everything run so much more problem free. This is news to no one. And get the OEM version. And get Windows 7, 8 sux.
- If you're getting a stationary (tower) PC, get a preassembled one with a support/service plan, from a wellknown company (can't think of others than Dell?). The parts are selected to work together. If you assemble yourself, you run the risk of weird hardware conflicts (though i must admit, this risk seems to be smaller these days...).
More expensive, but worth it.
