Police State of the Day

In early September 2013 I tried to end a relationship with a female I'd known for about a year. She became vindictive and reported me to the law for allegedly growing medicinal cannabis.

I was told then that no charges would be filed by the responding officers. A little over a year later, a deputy shows up, out of the blue with an arrest warrant for me based on the incident previously mentioned. I have an absolutely clean record. I'm 41 years old as of writing this.

I was given a $20,000 bail, and even after I managed to borrow money to hire a lawyer (who is working for much less than usual) the prosecutor refused a bond reduction. After 12 days in jail I attended a hearing in shackles around my wrists, waist and ankles, dressed in prison fatigues. The judge reduced my bail by almost 90% and I managed to post bond.

I am facing up to 20 years in the state penitentiary, my trial begins in early November, 2014. :(
