    RE:TPM requirement

Technically you need a TPM, but turns out most recent Intel and AMD chips have a virtual TPM integrated that's good enough so there is probably no need to buy a TPM chip (although that's just $20 and does keep your data secure)

"If you didn't get one of the few TPM modules available yesterday, don't panic—you almost certainly didn't need one. OEM hardware TPM is generally considered the most hardened version, and it's soldered directly to the board in PCs intended for enterprise use. Less-hardened firmware TPM support is built right into modern AMD and Intel processors, and that will satisfy Windows 11's TPM requirement just fine."

    • but if the system requirement checker says "no" then buy a $20 tpm module for your mobotrooperbill
    • I've seen super techy people proclaim that people will leave Windows in droves due to this.formed
    • I don't see a single person leaving nor do I see MS making it a challenge. What I do see is super techy people spreading rumors/clickbait.formed
    • Thanks for posting, now I can share with said super techy people. :-)formed
