they say they are testing a new streamlined homepage. (i thought the site was broke)
not everyone will see the single text box homepage, only certain visitors
how important is this to the useability of the site i wonder? does it make it more effective for users or..
i was thinking maybe they were just using too much bandwidth (aka $$$) serving up all those images and graphics on the front page.
cant imagine how many people type in www.ebay.com every day.

I think a lot more massive E-com sites are moving to a simpler style to both relieve heavy bandwidth consumption and just for general usability purposes.
I don't find ebay that usable...simply because of its on screen clutter.
