ticks/crosses - sweden??

  I've just been given a job to do for a swedish company. they've told me that i can't use ticks and crosses in the form section cos they mean something different in sweden.
  (crosses = correct
  (ticks = incorrect)

  i was going to use the traffic lights idea but was told that people who were colour blind would have problems.

  any ideas?
