I'm at the stage now where I need to start thinking about universities to apply to...
I have wanted to study graphic design for the last three years, but i've started to change my mind and i don't think a degree in it would be useful, for me.
I considered architecture, but i'm not sure about that- I don't know if i'd enjoy it as much as something I already have a passion for....And now I'm going towards some kind of motion design because it embraces more aspects of design that I love - with the graphic, musical etc... - and provides a more open medium.
Anyway, I wanted to know what kind of areas there were in motion design, like broadcast, 3d etc. And what I might be expecting out of a degree.
Thanks.

The exciting element of Ravensbourne is that the students are so passionate and driven.
The calibre and scale of talent is pioneering.http://Lord Attenborough

I say find the people you're interested in working for and intern there. I don't think MOtion Graphics are a real academic field of study yet. Atleast not one worth paying for.

I'm not talking about motion limited to the interweb...
What sort of career prospects are there in broadcast/motion work? - I'm not in it for the money, but I need to balance that sort of thing with enjoyment.

word up Sporty - do you have msn messenger? - want to discuss the motion initiative?
Ravensbourne looks good, and pretty much the only place i can find so far who do motion design - but its in london which is expensive....
