hello. i'm usin premiere 6.5 and after effects 5.5. I've never used widescreen footage before in after effects. When i drop my edited clips into after effects from premiere (with wide screen settings in AE) the AE preview screen isn't showing the clip in widescreen... what am i doing wrong???

interpret footage/main/pixel aspect ratio/ then select the D1 widescreen. It'll look squashed.
Are you trying to output the preview to an external monitor?

When you render you edit from Premire, have you gone into export movie settings(choose the video tab) and set pixel aspect ratio to PAL or NTSC widescreen depending on the format you are working with.
Then in AFter EFX import the movie selcet it and goto interpte footage under the file menu and set the Pixel aspect ration to PAL/NTSC widescreen.Hope it helps

open composition setting>pixel aspect ratio

if you've done that already, check if in view>view options>pixel aspect correction is checked
