my house has just been robbed
They didn't get too much (hopefully it can all be replaced) video/camera/mp3player/watch.
my dog disturbed them - just wish he would have taken a chunk out of one of them!!
They must have thought the house was empty cos i haven't been here that much cos my wife has just had a baby (that should be another post) The baby's been a bit sick and had to be kept in for the last week. He's fine now - and they both should be coming home tomorrow.
HOw the hell am i going to tell her this. Its supposed to be a great day when your baby comes home from the hospital.

that sucks....but it will still be a great day....material things can be replaced.... :)

i'm not bothered about what they took - apart from the watch. My wife bought it for me on my wedding day.
its just the thought of them in my house while i was asleep.
plus -- they left a big knife out on one of the beds -- they would have used it on me if i would have been a bit quicker...and the thought of them coming back?
I'm getting all the locks changed this morning!!

Sorry to hear!
I hate punk ass people that do not have respect for other peoples shit!! I would of bit off one of there balls, and choked the other one with it...

Probably best not to worry youre wife with it for a while, what with a new baby coming home and all. Last thing she needs to hear is that there was some guy walking round the house with a knife.

don't want to tell her -- but i'll have to sooner or later -- they went through her purse. I haven't got a clue what she's got in there?
(bank cards etc)

Yeah you should tell her, but maybe after you've changed the locks and she's had a bit of rest :)
Congratulations on the little guy!

Yeah I got robbed on a train in northern Vietnam a few months ago - lost two good microphones, md recorder, slr, etcetera etcetera but you realise how little material things matter I guess - had one of the best days of my trip the next day funnily enough!
Just pray it helps the guy who took it to stop being such a bunghole and get a real life as opposed to ripping people off!!
good luck!!!

I got robbed last month, I was home while it happened aswell. Lucky not much was stolen, a bike and watch, as far as I can tell.
There is nothing worse than being robbed while you are home. Pretty scarry.

I know your situation is completely different than mine, especially with a baby on the way. But, it is because of these sorts of situations that I am in the market for a gun. I live far out in the country, and if someone was threatening my life I’m afraid the police would be too late. They left a knife?!? That makes me think that they had planned on using it! I don’t want to get into a gun control argument or anything, however it’s these types of situations that make owning a gun something to think about.

i got broken into last year.
now i've a got a loaded shotgun under my bed.

That whole plan changes dramatically once a kid enters the picture. I’m not a father, but I don’t know if I could have a gun around if I had any kids.

Sorry to hear. But on the upside, you're bring home something far more precious than anything you could have lost :)
- pooch0
you are right.
no kids here. just my lonesome.

if the cops in the UK don't carry guns, why do you think it's acceptable for UK citizens to carry personal firearms?
And I come from Australia, where the cops love gunning down people over there.

i'd tell her you were robbed... but probably not mention the knife... only adds to the worry.
- -leah-0
i agree with jamesengage. you HAVE to tell her about the robbery and that her purse was rifled through, but you don't need to tell her about the knife.
hopefully you called the cops right away too?
