much love to everyone having to deal with this shit today.
I just hope there isn't any backlash against the mid-east community in the UK.

it must be said that it's comforting to see how well the rescue services and police etc. seem to be organized. most media report about this as well.
it seems they were well prepared.
*tips hat to all the people involved on rescue and safety

i was thinking the same thing about the rescue services. glad they learned and implemented something from september 11th and helped save lives.

yeah, i have to say it was extremely well handled, possibly avoiding further loss of life, good on the emergency services.
condolences to anyone who lost someone they know :(

very true what was said about emergency services. i noticed it amongst the citizens as well. they all seemed to remain calm and kept it all together. well done.

Former NYC mayor Giuliani was having breakfast one block away from the first attack this morning. I just saw an interesting interview. He was visiting London just when this happens.
It's also interesting to note that he compared Blair to Churchill. Churchill fought the nazi's and Blair terrorism.
One other noteworthy fact:
The night before (!) Sept. 11 Giuliani was reading a biography about Winston Churchill.

when I fell asleep last night - all I knew is that the officials thought two trains had collided... and I just awoke to this news...
... my prayers to all of you over in London or who have family there etc.

(Jul 7 05, 13:24)Agreed. But to be fair, we are quite experienced at this. London has been an IRA target for decades. When I lived in N london in the 90s a bomb scare or indeed an incendiary device or explosive was a v regular occurance.
I still remember the noise from the bomb in Wood Green back in 92ish *shudder

I even saw some pics of the Queen with a shovel clearing debris...

Damnit those londoners are great.
i just saw two officers holding hands with an old lady who pretended to be fine but who was clearly shocked. they offered her water, she humbly said no, then they urged: take it, it's free!
then they kept listening to her.
Awesome people.
Londoners should be fucking proud of themselves!
