If you are willing to travel I can give you the address of the best greek restaurant in town (and I mean proper greek...not the american greek gyros crap you get here....) but it's about 35 mins away from where you will be on the tube...

i live near the imperial war museum! and london's hands-down best tapas bar ever is just a stone's throw, too. it's called mar i terra:
for anything else, go to brixton. it's close to elephant & castle and makes for a fun night out, if a little dodgy.
- jevad0
omfg mar i terra rules!!!
ixnay on the brixtonay!
head north my son!
and brick lane for some curry action!

Fucken-A, my wife and I are going over to visit her sister in May. I am crapping-my-pants excited. I think they said we were going over to Edenbourough for a night or so.
Crazy shit!

-------------http://www.laterooms.com/ was recommended to me here and got me a lovely 4 star double for £69 last September
As for food, I will be coming back to this really cheap veggie thai place:

Peteski, I live in this area too. Near Oval tube. You're gonna love IWM, allow a good 2/3 hours exclusively for the Holocaust feature exhibition, it is too much to take in.
Not so amazing restaurants right nearby, but one or two tube stops away you're laughing, over towards London Bridge and Waterloo.
This is highly recommended from my own experience, like Swedish tapas (yes it's amazingly better than it sounds)

Also try this Turkish place, near Borough tube:
Also, for South London in general, go to Greenwich for just the best SL experience.
Character. class, market at weekend, clothes, vintage clothes, nice food and proper pubs.ENJOY
