I've got one of these guys http://www.apple.com/keyboard/
and my idiot friend spilled tea all over it and now the keys stick. I'm an apple n00b so I'm wondering can I pop the keys off like a PC keyboard, to clean it? I'm assuming you can but if I'm wrong I don't want to bust my keyboard.

I think you need to pop it open in order to do that. If I remember well a friend of mine had the same problem and told me that screws are under the little gray rubber feet on the back of the KB.

Nope... sorry. Was a different keyboard the one my friend opened. According to Apple Support the Keyboard is sealed and can't be opened. Sorry.

Hey an idea! why don't you ask your friend to pay for it!?

Pretty sure apple has this great idea, where all of their products look beautiful, but as soon as something goes wrong, you have to throw it away, or pay them for a new one.

At $49 for a new one, its hard to see how fixing it could be cost-efficient... better to scrap/recycle the materials?

could it be there are solutions you could soak it in (not water), that don't destroy it? (dry well)

You actually can soak a lot of keybards in water and have them work just fine. It takes about two weeks or so to dry them properly but mostly works. I wouldn't try it without having a replacement ready ;P

Run it through the dishwasher

I spilled beer on my keyboard. The keys stopped working. I soaked it in water for a few minutes and then hung it on the line for a few hours in the sun. Never worked again.
Live and learn.
