Idiots.
Although I would like to know more information about this survey, I wonder if they're all discussing, "did YOU say that killing in the name of Islam can be justified?"
- I mean, I am all for multiculturalism, but definitely not imposing or using religion.Jaline
- And by "they", I mean extremist Muslims, and not in the derogatory sense.Jaline
- This sort of madness comes from multiculturalism, I'd say. Pluralism and unity are a better idea.dog_opus
- lol it's okay sometimes put people in groupsLlyod
- I hope you're joking, dog_opus. that sounds like a dictatorship.Jaline
- Pluralism and unity sound like a dictatorship?dog_opus
- You are an idiot, Dog_Opus.
Multiculturalism is the logic outcome of our ever changing society.tank02

any numbers/survey presented through a mainstream newspaper presenting any specific group of people in a negative way especially this way has another motive. its bullshit with a political agenda.
- robotron3k0
if you send them all back, maybe you could replace there cuisine with tacos...
- KwesiJ0
you take a bunch of students with already 'radicalized' views, ask them some heated questions with certain hot buttons in a certain political context and chances are you'll get at least a third of them answering somewhat controvertial and negative results. take those results that were planned to begin with and write a steamy propaganda peice in the timesonline and you get cool web fodder for people who want to hate on muslims in general. is this representative of all muslims everywhere? is this a question about 'killing in the name of' or general moral principles, why ask musilms about killing in the name islam when thousands of innocent PEOPLE of all persuasion are dying over industry and politics anyway? Should people die because of an oil pipe line? ask them that. Its media bias, its trendy to critisize islam...why? because everyone thinks they're at war with islam. I'll say it again...propaganda fear mongering.
- You spilled some of your Kool-Aid there.dog_opus
- i dont need to be patronized by someone being fooled by a spun editorial dupe peiceKwesiJ

On the other hand, this was only a survey of 600 people, if you read the article. Not sure you can draw any real conclusions from it.
- Pretty broad base, though. Any way you look at it, it's disturbing, in my opinion.dog_opus
- you are easily distrurbedKwesiJ
- And the thing is: how many other religious groups would respond like this? Seriously. It's not a fluke.dog_opus
- You are easily indoctrinated, K-Money.dog_opus
- 1,400 in the poll, BTW.dog_opus
- But only about half were Muslimukit
- KwesiJ0
its manipulating surveys and putting it in a specific context. ask 600 white american conservatives in Texas if killing muslims in Iraq because they caused 911 is ok. Hmmm...all of sudden there's a concensus over killing people, wonder why. They do this everyday on Fox anyway. B fukin S
- What? Do you think before you speak, or do you just kind of let it flow out unchecked?dog_opus
- did you think about what i wrote or just write that to attempt to insult my intellegence?KwesiJ
- I thought about it, and quickly concluded that you did not. You're thinking emotionally, not critically.dog_opus
- uh...i work in media, this is what we doKwesiJ
- Says the internet. Hey, I'm Paul Rand's secret love-child, you know.dog_opus
- ukit0
Yeah, if you look at the group that did the survey, the "Centre For Social Cohesion," they def don't seem to be a disinterested party. In fact, their whole organization seems to be organized against Muslim immigrants.

So, be concerned I guess, but take it w/ a grain of salt.
- dog_opus0
Yeah, but the thing is, data is exclusive of its vehicle, unless one can prove that it's somehow been manipulated.
- dog_opus0
We all must draw our own conclusions, but I'm convinced that multiculturalism and identity politics are doing severe damage to the freedom and unity that so many before us worked to achieve in Western society. Pretty effed up.
- you're scaredKwesiJ
- You're clairvoyant. Nifty.dog_opus
- OMG multiculturalism is ruining freedom!...yeah thats effed up. you might got a point with identity politics but that doesn't exclude your stand point at allKwesiJ
- ...doesn't exclude your position at all.KwesiJ
- The degree to which that sentence made sense was proportional to my interest in it. Evens out!dog_opus
- talk to the hand lalalalal...thats youKwesiJ
- What? Stop drinking and go to bed, homes. It's untoward for a media hotshot to be so incoherent.dog_opus
- lol Goofball.dog_opus
- thats why you don't respond to anything i say just attempt to critsize what i typed not my pointKwesiJ
- ya fuk thanks i havn't been called goofball since grade 5KwesiJ
- Too bad for you.Jaline
- You are a sad man, dog_opus...tank02
- ukit0
Right, but you must know that with any survey, it's all in how you ask, and then frame, the questions. They didn't reprint the survey itself, so we can only guess. All I'm saying is, I would believe it more if it was coming from a group that wasn't already dedicated to raising alarms about Muslim immigrants. If we saw a survey that said people cared about the environment and it came from the Sierra Club I would be suspicious too.
- Yeah, it would be good to see the actual data and the survey.dog_opus
- epete220
well no shit.

"the "Centre For Social Cohesion," they def don't seem to be a disinterested party. "
the centre was established by a 'right-wing' think tank called Civitas and is headed up by a fairly famous (if you watch question time) Scottish neo-conservative

"86% of QBNT users agree that Macs are better than PCs."
a survey never means anything because it can be manipulated to serve a specific view point or goal.
I yawn at that article.- +1tank02
