Hi
Can anyone point me to good 3d courses in the Uk?
I'm looking for really intensive ones, that take no longer than a month.Thank you

Escape Studios.

pricey but good. i think most courses are at least 6 weeks tho? i'd love to go on that animation one or the VFX one.

_____You can now do some of the courses online... I built the prototype for their learning tool earlier this year...

gnomon has to be good by now. probably still too expensive

...and they have shed loads of videos etc on there, a Q&A system, and loads and loads of 'how-to's' which take you out of your lesson to focus on certain points in detail

good work POU - I've been working through the trials and it's v easy to use, i even thought to myself, "i wonder who designed this interface" :)
The only thing I'd worry about with doing the online version rather than the classroom environment is that there isn't much of a way of knowing if you're at the level of "industry standard" with your learning, as opposed to doing it with a tutor where they kick your ass a bit.
Still it's £2500 cheaper doing it online so maybe that is enough of an ass-kick.

Thank you for the tips!
any other school besides this one?

are you after technical chops or design chops?

cheers :)

You can easily learn it with a handful of books and the internet. I wouldn't waste time or money with classes.

vespa,
I'm looking for something more technical

ok well Escape is the one i was recommended by friends working at Redbee. and i was asking about technical vs design because personally i'm looking for both whereas Escape are purely technical.
as palmer_ says, you could learn with books etc, I'm doing this now while I'm waiting to hear on some other (design-led) options, but I did find maya really daunting at first. I'm getting better now tho, so maybe it's possible. It's a hell of a lot cheaper.
Escape also has skillset funding, which pays for 60-70% i think? but all those places get taken really quickly, those spots have already been filled for the next courses.
