Harper refuses to release the details of the agreement to the public, but of course he got Big Business' approval first. The talks happen 3 days after the election and he doesn't want us knowing we could end up with European companies running our public services.
Harper's platform in 2006 included promising open discussion and voting on big-deal treaties, so what's changed?

Not necessarily a bad thin from what I just read, really depends though on the exact details.

all you need to know to hate the conservatives is bill-61, aka the canadian version of the american patriot act. Which is actually worse than the us version - read about it here

the bill was defeated recently due to the election being called but it will be back in a new form if the conservatives get a majority.
do you enjoy buying a cd and putting it on your ipod? well if this bill passes, that will be illegal! I shit you not. i need to post this in the ca politics thread too

Wow. I have an odd feeling that this may just prevent a majority.

Hard to comment without seeing the terms. Sounds like a winner for Canada if you ask me. Especially with USA kicking the bucket financially.
I do dislike the point about lobbies being consulted while the public is kept in the dark. But that's Harper for you.
