My boss has finally agreed to change our company name from Internet Essentials to Universal Mode (or umode for short.)
The only thing is he's uncertain about the new name. Umode.
He's worried it needs to contain something about what we do (marketing & web design)
Im under the impression that it don't matter but I guess the worry is our clients wont get it.
Here's the proposed business card design too

some variation in weight would be nice. um. if it's going to be umode for short. um. i would make that the logo instead of um.

you can easily add something about the services you provide and i do think that is a necessary element. how else am i to know what universal mode means?

i quite like the idea of an elephant. you could further that concept in other ID/branding material.

That design I included is quite old now and we agreed in the office to scrap design 1.
The real question remains, is Universal Mode a shitty name or not?

Don't make your name caps (or don't make the company name caps). I don't mind the logos, but you need to modify them (make them cleaner and the some of the lines need to be smooth). The new name is a bit better, but still not that great.
