On the lookout for intellectual and entertaining podcasts such as those typically found on the bbc radio 4 podcast page, ted.com, etc.
Themes and persons of interest typified by Christopher Hitchens, Michio Kaku, Daniel Dennett, Richard Dawkins, any socialogical, scientific, design, political analysis, luminaries or experts.
Nothing better than 1/2 hr of brain stimulation to fall asleep to, brain awakes refreshed and fed.

Mr Hitchens AND Stephen Fry - both in my top 10 dinner party list.
They sit opposite and 1 down from John Cleese

Dan Carlin is kind of an acquired taste but I find him entertaining.
He has two podcasts, one on politics (from an independent/ libertarian perspective) the other is a history show.
- he is a little too over produced or at least was when i use to listensilentseven

Open Source with Christopher Lydon was one of my favorite NPR shows...unfortunately it got cancelled but they are still producing independently.

Also, I'd highly recommend searching for terms like 'academic', 'educational' or 'TTC' (The Teaching Company) along with your favourite authors or lecturers in your favourite Torrent search program (Demonoid, for instance) as there's a wealth of decent audio books out there.

How could I forget R4's "In Our Time"?! Thursday morning, when it airs, is one of my favourite times of the week. All hail Melvyn Bragg!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/hist…I highly recommend this to anyone who's generally interested in 'stuff' - 3 experts and a keen host discuss a specific subject each week from the fields of philosophy, science, history, culture and religion.
The extensive archive is here..
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/hist…- Ah, you're probably already keenly aware of IOT, miko. I hope others here give it a listen, in that case.Nairn
