firefox has settings you can alter to change saturation if I remember correctly

if you're seeing different colors between browsers, then your image probably has an ICC profile embedded rather than applied (it's tagged with a profile). some browsers honor them, and some don't. this is a case of whether you want the color to be as accurate as possible in properly color managed browsers, or as consistent as possible between browsers (no ICC profile embedded!)

but you've only solved the problem for yourself. the root of the issue is that your working color space doesn't match the default web space.

pretty huge difference. sux. always convert to srgb in sfw to be safe

These things are set out there so we could still be experts and charge expert money. Otherwise, anyone could make a website, just like it was in dark ages before tableless css.
