Myself and some friends are going to be in Chicago for most of next week... Is there anything going on? Art shows, parties etc..? Even if anyone has a great resource to share like a blog, that talks about nifty shit going on in the city. Even any people we should get a hold of and meet up with?

That, my friend, depends entirely on what you and your friends are into: hobbies, music, clubbing, art/design shows. Etc
- Definitely art/design related shit more than anything else. Shopping for sneakers is nice too..lifterBARON

- That site actually has some cool things to do, amazingly enough.move

I personally recommend the obama art show. It has some reaaaaaly dope work, and its easy to get to. And Im not just saying that cause I'm in the show either;)

get shitfaced and go eat in greektown. get flaming saganaki. It'll be really cheap and fun.
Also, hit a chinatown noodle shop for lunch, chinatown isnt that impressive but the food makes up for it.

restaurant in chinatown called phoenix is really good, prob one of the best in that area. Dim sum, Pressed duck, tsing tao. Cant front on that.

Chicago rules. I live here. But i gotta say, there isn't a ton to do here that u can't do anywhere else.
This is a drinking town, so if u like getting wasted till 4am, we gotcha covered :)

Basically, my wife and I are always looking for a reason to move there... love the city etc.. We go like twice a year and don't really end up doing anything more than hit a museum, eat a lot and walk around Wicker Park. I just feel like we lose the opportunity to see the super rad stuff when we're in town. Not really any hook ups there yet.

I lived there for 10 year, great place in the good weather months. I think a fun thing to do would be to rent bikes at Navy Pier ( http://www.bikechicago.com/ ) and go up and down the lakefront. Bring a picnic and you are all set for a nice day.

chicago sucks purely because of the weather. i lived there for a year, but i guess 100 degrees doesn't jive with everyone.

whenever i have friends in town and they want to see the city i take them to the signature room at the john hancock for a quick bloody mary, shedd aquarium, bar hopping in west loop and downtown, then end the night at kingston mines (if you have not been here this is a must, they close at about 4am, good blues music)
and yes studderine delilahs is a good spot too. i go there a lot.
also look into the architectural tour at the navy pier, that was very fun but it is quite a commitment.
- +1 - me too on the signature room tip. went to kinston for the first time on Friday, it was great!mg33

man, i need to get back out to chicago! i wanted to go last summer but ended up just being to busy.
have you ever taken megabus there? we got tickets out of mpls for like $50 roundtrip. so awesome to not pay for chicago parking each day and night!

millnium park. art institue. walk along the lake. navy pier. you can find many young people, restaurants, along clark street north from the loop up to at least addison.....lots of stuff in that area....that is where boys town is, lots of small shops, etc....yeah, sears tower....you can eat on the 95th floor....some kind of view...expensive though.
