It's a serious flaw in the argument for prohibition to blame the substance for the problem. Whether Opiate or Tabacco or anything inbetween the problem is within us humans, a minority of which are inclined to addiction. Education is the key not fear.

Well, my family lives in Mexico, and just couple of days ago. There was a shootout between Mexican military and drug cartels that lasted 1 hour. Since it was close to my parents house they were able to hear about 25 grenade explosions, high caliber machine guns, the lights went, it was total chaos. These happened in one of the busiest blvds in the city.
I'll post some raw material from a shootout back in February. 1 block from an elementary school.

yeah these narc families in the north of Mexico are pretty fucked up lately, they are fighting over the control of the zone and distribution, the nightclub event and the 5 heads is fucking real.
Recently the police also captured one guy that was in charge of dissolving bodies in acid.

mass executions anyone? They're doing it to the public (yes I know there are exceptions) but why's not do it back? We can throw heads at the cartels (with religious messages involved of course).

These people are merely poor victims of something much bigger, controlled by the US.
Without a market to consume this stuff, there wouldn't be such issues.
I don't see any drugs for Alcohol, Tobacco or Coffee. Which are very powerful drugs.
How about you take some fucking responsibility for screwing up the world. Close the border to Mexico and stop selling Mexico guns and you will probably have a much peaceful place.
I wonder how the rest of the world would cope without cocaine though.
And let's also remember that cocaine in the way we snort it today was invented by our modern society – the US and Europe mostly.

"The U.S. federal government spent over $15 billion in 2010 on the War on Drugs, a rate of about $500 per second."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War…That $15 Billion is obviously going somewhere, and to who that $$ is going to, they do not want the drug war to end.
Hence there will always be a war on drugs.

The war on drugs was the first war without borders, then came the war on terror. No clear targets, no government to sanction, no end in sight for either. Taylor made for specific industries to profit from, at the expense of the taxpayers.
The next war without borders will be against _____.- the internetsmoldero

The dead ranged in age from 13 to 42 years old. At least 11 were teenagers. They were shot late Saturday night when gunmen sealed off a block and stormed into a birthday party in a working-class residential neighborhood in southeastern Juárez and began firing with large-caliber handguns and rifles.
Two more victims died at a hospital, officials said Monday, raising the death toll to 16, with 12 others still hospitalized with gunshot wounds. Four remain in critical condition
