Passed my Direct Access (for non UK residents this means I can ride any size bike) test about 2 weeks ago and really want to get my first bike.
Am thinking about the Suzuki GSX 650F. What do others think of this and do you think it would be ok for a first timer?
Good review here: http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MC…

Go get yourself a used bike so when you dump it your heart doesn't break.

the gsx will be a decent first bike, but truthfully i always advise new riders to buy used and unfaired... a small driveway tip over will be pretty expensive with all that extra plastic.

the gsx is pretty much a updated version of the katana, I had a 04 and really enjoyed it for what it was. Comfortable enough for 500 mile days and enough power to keep things interesting. Only issues are lowend suspension & excess weight. I would also check out the kawasaki 650.
