freelance rates UK

I'm just trying to find out the the going rate for freelance work in the UK. I've done a few searches on QBN and from what I can see it's anywhere between £30 - £50 on hour.
What do most of you guys charge?Does it make a difference how much you charge for print compared to animation?
Do you charge by the day or by the hour?
Any help would be appreciated.

depends how good your work is really. I was getting peanuts when I started out then polished up my portfolio and was getting offered £150-200 a day (im junior-mid)

Direct to client - £320/day
