What are the things you think make up a GOOD project manager?

One who manages projects well.
One who slightly understands the market
One who understands the skills involved in the project.

If female: Great boobs, extremely attractive and flirtatious demeanour.
PS: My GF was my project manager.

-Zero understanding of skills, technologies and time required to complete a project
-Someone who can complicate even the most basic of communications.
-Prefers to email you every 5 minutes with the most mindless of drivel under the guise of 'status updates'
-Must drink 5 hour energy
-Can get even under the most reserved persons skin

The ability to kick a designer's ass when they are slacking off.

aargh.... not easy....
1. the ability to convince clients and upper management to STOP BEING RANDOM
2. Somebody who knows that you CANNOT just add more people to a late project, it will just confuse everyone.... (they have read the mythical man month)
3. Somebody who can get buy-in on ideas before they're made visual, so that EVERYONE doesn't suddenly have a million new ideas when we're ALMOST DONE with the original spec
- ESP, or mind-reading of some sort is probably a good requirement....vaxorcist

Would it make a difference if a project manager was re-titled producer?
- vaxorcist0
Title matters little.... they're somehow just the person in the middle between sales/account side vs design/development... it's often a very squeezed situation, burnout happens....between the "us and them" battle that's been ongoing forever in agencies...

Never say "I thought you would be done by now." When the project is due tomorrow.

A good PM can tell you if a certain request is:
1. just get it done, this is just keep the client happy, and it will probably be changed a number of times anyway so get ready...
or
2. really something that matters and with enough effort, we might win an award

one that can make the client make quick and useful decisions and deliver content early on in the project. If said content is web-ready I'll give extra awesome point.
