Leonardo DiCaprio was sought for Riddler role

As buzz for "The Dark Knight Rises" continues to build, we are learning that Catwoman and Bane were not necessarily Warner Brothers' first choice to represent the villainous vibes of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy finale.
Instead, the studio had envisioned Leonardo DiCaprio in the role of the Riddler (made famous by Jim Carrey in "Batman Forever" and also by Fran- i would actually like to see Jim Carrey as the riddler again but with better writing and directing.404

Hard to tell what kind of Riddler he could play. I dont remember ever seeing him play any goofy characters. He played a crazy one great in the Aviator, but that's not what the Riddler is like. Kinda glad they didnt go with him but I definitely get why Warner would want another very popular villain to follow up the Joker.
- Riddler is not goofy. He is cerebral and always brings out the detective in Batman.. Forget that Jim Carrey crap.ETM
