ever been offered a job after just a phone interview? How'd you handle it if its long distance?

make sure you get a signed contract sent to you. until a contract and offer letter are written up, it's as solid as air.

Well, I'd just buy a long distance calling card.

some companies pays relocation. just saying.

they're pretty big for a company, but its only asking for 1-3 years experience. he asked me a month ago if i moved back on my own, i don't think they'd be willing to pay for relocation. its not just that, its just i haven't spoken to them at length about the opportunity- and they want a decision quick. i can quickly relocate, its just the cost of it and uncertainty of the job duties--- is it common to get a job offered after just a phone interview though? a few industry friends tell me yes, when people i ask outside of the industry are shaking their heads...

They want a fast decision and an employee excited about the opportunity.
You want reassurance that the offer isn't going to go up in smoke after you are committed to moving to a new location.
So make sure both sides get what they want. Let them know you are definitely interested and excited. Can they please get you a formal offer in writing so that you can begin the relocation process as soon as possible.

i asked for a written offer friday so i could review it for a quick decision- as well as had a few more questions about details. such as probationary period, dates of benefits start, typical additional questions) and have not received a follow up yet...
part of me is just worried about having to endure the cost of moving and it not working out--- but i do have a lot of family there and thus been a strong reason for my extreme interest...
