can anyone tell me the best way to convert a .mov file to mp4, webm and ogg/ogv formats. but keeping a decent resolution?
I have tried converting using the "miro video convertor" which converts to these formats... but when i put the files on the net and try and view them in firefox it's like a flash back to the late 90's - the resolution is shot to bits! but strangely enough in safari it is quite tidy.
Any suggestions for the best way of converting - preferably without paying out?

@georgesIV - i've been using miro - but i can't seem to get it to give a decent res for firefox (for some reason) - do you know if there are any preferences (other than 'settings' for the webm) that can be tweaked?
or is it just the default?

For mp4s, is there anything wrong with Adobe Media Converter? I've been using that. It has tons of presets and makes sure it plays on Apple devices, which isn't easy otherwise.

aaaah! sussed it!!! the issue with firefox was the way that miro 3.0 converts ogv files!!! after giving it a bit "columbo" style googling it seems that version 3.0 is rubbish at converting to ogv...
downloaded 2.6 of miro and that sorted it. ;-)nice one for all the links though people !
have a nice weekend y'all - ya hear!
