afternoon all! here's a question for any c4d heads on here...
does anyone know or has anyone successfully done this...
if i were to set up an animation in c4d is there anyway that i export it and have only the selected object on a transparent background? is there a way of doing that? or is it export to quicktime and export again as a sequence and then have to edit the individual frames?
i'm still very much finding my feet in c4d - and it's all self taught (so probably a million bad habits to boot!) :-(
i know that when i render an image and i only want a specific object/objects in the render - i can hide all the other bits from camera...
...but is there a way of doing a similar thing for an animation? and having transparent as the background as opposed to the black?hopefully someone can give me a thumbs up and a way to do such funkery ;-)
...anyone?

Create the render with an alpha channel or there's an option to render selected objects only in your render settings..
- nice one! ;-)
with this it wouldn't give a transparent bg though would it? or would it?wwfc
- nice one! ;-)

also, check into object buffer

i usually make a mate render, using the compositing tag, you can turn objects completly white or completly black, and then use it as a mask for your desired objects in after effects (after fx can mask with black and white using Luma mate option)

okay - will have a look into those suggestions ;-)
muchos gracias!

I'll second the object buffer method...
It's easy to just render the background alpha, but if you have more than one object you want control over, using Object Buffers is so easy and works perfectly.
