it's more about the design process and refining ideas to their most simple form. in design speak it's quite elitist.

Id like to say im minimalist but im probably more "reductive utilitarian"
- I consider myself a dadaist.ORAZAL

Having worked in advertising for 20 years I guess i'm over 'stuff' although i'm sure I have more than most. I have over the last 2-3 years started to follow more of a Shaker philosophy.
Basically nothing in your life unless it has a purpose.
Works for me.
"They designed their furniture with care, believing that making something well was in itself, "an act of prayer." Before the late 19th century, they rarely fashioned items with elaborate details or extra decoration, but only made things for their intended uses."
minimalism is a style imo, having stuff in your life you actually need, and getting rid of the stuff you don't just seems logical to me.
Whether it's all white or not is a choice.
Personally heaven looks like:
- "Whether it's all white or not is a choice."
Good pointORAZAL - i hope there's a lake right outside that doortimeless
- look like a place i stayed with my family for 2 weeks - i always say it felt like heaventimeless

^ yep. functionality is key. quality too, but minimalism is about more than just having "less stuff". it's a mindset. "good orderly direction", simplicity, freedom, etc.

i certainly dont accumulate crap like i used to... i do like a mimimal aesthetic and since moving to a new apartment i've kept it really sparse. Comfortable yet functional i spose.
furniture, objects, art etc has to be of a better quality as theres not much to rest the eyes on so when they do it should be something of nice quality to look at.

Dont have to be minimalist -- I just "trim" my belongings from time to time, because it grows like moss: pots, pans, tea mugs, bottles, small cloths or towels of some sorts, ill-fitting crap you bought on the internet -- throw it all away

Just having stuff with minimalistic designs instead of a crumpled mess makes you just a design lover, not a minimalist.
- What if you don't have much of it?qbner
- minimalism is about the ability to 'do it' with less, so an old nokia to call people is more minimalism as an iphone - get it?mekk
- i only smoke signalprophetone
- never smoked signal, is it good?set
- i've been "doing it with less" for about 20 years now - not by choicetimeless
