I like the font, but the heart gets lost and muddy even at that size.

"The introductory TV spot, with the catchy message of “Without a heart, it’s just a machine” is quite nice."
- So a copywriter lead the "strategy" here, eh?freedom

Is the heart supposed to look like a butterfly?

I'm gonna go on a 2-part rant here...
I'm getting pretty sick of how every week a new major corporation feels the need to "refresh" their logo, and then we post before and afters of it on the interwebs and and offer critiques from behind the privacy of our desks in our air conditioned offices.
Sure, sometimes the feedback is positive or even constructive, but to me it begs the greater question: why the hell do these companies feel the need to rebrand every 3 years? I mean, I can offer a long-winded, BS explanation as to why, but I just don't like it. Call it "rebranding fatigue." I've got it.
Anyway, now I'm going to share my critical comments on the logo just like the rest of you.
I like the font. It has much more personality than the old font. I also like that they're staying more or less true to their original color palette.
The tagline that incorporates the heart from the commerical is clever, however it's just a bit to whimsy and unoriginal for me. I would have preferred seeing an airplane remain in the logo, but perhaps that's in a purely self-serving way because I like looking at airplanes. The heart is also too small in comparison to the text. As said above, it gets lost at that size. I say if you're going for the heart be bold. Make a big freakin' heart!
- I never felt the airplane picture was a good logomonospaced
- and the old type was so damn generic without personalitymonospaced
- Helvetica with Airplane clip art wasn't a logo. They finally have one.omahadesigns
- I said the airplane was a self-serving request! :)nocomply
- I feel a little better about the heart knowing that it's been incorporated into past logos as noted below.nocomply

The heart thing should be for a year-long ad campaign, not for the actual logo.
The yellow in the heart gets lost on white backgrounds, and the blue gets lost when it's on a blue background. Failure.

i like it. you're all just a bunch of old queens.
it's too small... FFS, it's what you've always wanted!- The icon is too small relative to the type.iCanHazQBN
- it's most likely the application used on an airplane, in RL it's better proportioned. http://www.southwest…lambsy
