- When I was a teenager I used to call it wine country. Skid row still looks terrible with a lot of the available space taken up by someone or someone's stuff.shellie
- someone or someone's stuff. Dtla is less sketchy now but still not like a typical "downtown" vibe in most cities.shellie

In Sweden the homeless have lodging. Folks who are on the street PREFER to be there.
- believe it or not most of the people in America PREFER to be on the street as well, as opposed to a shelter or housingsublocked

I dunno, I don't really see anything wrong with this. Being on drugs isn't an excuse. He shouldn't have tried to get crazy with the cops. Just sit down and shut up. It's very possible the guy did grab the gun, and even if he wasn't able to get it out, if he just reached for it I don't blame the cops for doing what they did. Those cops have families and most are out there trying to do the right thing. What if the guy did pull out the gun and killed an officer, then they'd be saying -- wish I had shot him before that happened. Yeah, there are some bad cop things going on -- I wouldn't consider this one of them.
- their job is to keep calm and stay in control, not to start fucking riots. if you;ve got a family you are worried about, don't become a cop.scruffics
- a cop and get a job at the office.scruffics
- That makes no sense whatsoeverfyoucher1
- So when that guy ran back in the tent, they should have assumed he was bringing them cookies?fyoucher1

@bklyndroobeki
totally right about martial arts. Specifically kung fu wing chun. You know i'm taking lessons since 16 months now and i know it's highly effective in close range combat; lot's of hands-arms involved to knock someone down, hurt badly and control someone. It's better to have an eye gouged or a broken arm than receiving 12 bullets.
And in that video, kung fu would have been the best possible scenario to apply it; controlling someone hitting like a crazy everywhere.
The officers in that video are improvising and are not in control at all. Martial arts IS control. They should have take a step back instead of rushing on him and then let him come and take a shot; with someone as agitated as him, i would have hit with a front thrust kick first.
anyway

If 4 cops can't control one homeless guy, they have no business being cops. These guys look as competent and professional as a Walmart employee.
