Is there a way to d/l MS Word ONLY?
For Mac, instead of having entire f'kn suite on my machine?MS Word online wouldn't work for what I need it for. Perpetual license preferred.

- What is this?bklyndroobeki
- It's a free, open source office suite - I use it exclusively, but it is *not* ideal if you require 100% fidelity with clients' MS-originated files.detritus
- I've been using it for years without any problemsset
- yeah, it's for client work. creating templates.bklyndroobeki
- Creating Word templates? Hmmm.set
- open office is really good.renderedred

Oh God don't - I just got the missus an Office 365 subscription, assuring her it would do all that she needed.
Please tell me it doesn't throw up incompatability bullshit with 'normal' Word??
Fucking hell, MS.
.
I'm pretty pissed at them for my first Win8 experience on a new machine last night - they're trying to out-Google Google with all of their account/phone number locking-in.
- detrius, I don't think it does. It's compatible. There were some glitches that I saw when I received a file from a client a few mos ago but it was super minor-bklyndroobeki
- could've been something on their end.bklyndroobeki
- Thanks, man - I'll keep an eye on things.
Well, I'll just wait 'til she starts swearing at me.detritus - haha... lay low for a while.bklyndroobeki
- Win8. You dont actually have to create a live account.. there's a tiny little hidden link that says continue without cloud account or something like that/monNom

I am using Office 365/Word 2013. I use the desktop versions (not all the Office 365 subs included local install versions).
So far, besides some super, super, super annoying things in Outlook, it works fine and I've not seen any errors opening old files or creating new ones.

so there's no way to d/l just Word?- I think there is. I know someone that only bought Word. I have Office 365, so it installed everything at once, but I think you can buy separately.formed
- Looks like you can buy it for 109. I should just take the plunge. What I really want to do is pay for it when I need it which is maybe 1 or 2x's a yearbklyndroobeki
