To all London freelancers, which recruiters do you use?
I'm gong through a bit of a dry spell and I think it feels like a good time to make a few new contacts; other than finding work myself, I've generally used Major Players, Aquent, Red Sofa, Peas and I want to get in touch with some recruiters that are new to me.
So has anyone got any good recommendations for freelance agents that do a good line in brand/integrated/campaign work?

I'd recommend Represent

I've not been to Represent for years, when I did it was just Mike and a female colleague (I forget her name). I met with her and I was put off them because the first thing she did was try to tap me up for names and numbers of my own contacts. This happened in the initial chit-chat when she was asking what I had been up to – before we'd even started to go through my folio.
I found this a bit strange, after that I landed a few fairly long stints in studios and never really went back to them.
I see they've grown quite a lot since then, maybe I should get in touch with them again.

How about just sending emails around to studios/clients you'd want to work with? mention your site, availability, rate range, rate is open to negation depending on length of booking etc. Simples. Just their main contact address usually work, but if you've got spare time linked in can get you the names of people you need to speak to.
I used to spam 30 or so companies when I'd hit a dry spell and within an hour be on a call with a studio and in working the following day.
Plus those recruiters typically stick a minimal £50 on top of the rate you get per day.. so for studios, if you email them directly and just bump up your rate given to recruiters a bit, not only do you get paid more, but you're more attractive to studios as you're cheaper than a freelancer from a recruitment agency.
