Have you seen it? What did you thinketh?

I sort of work on a lot of the VFX on these films so for me to go and see them its a bit of a bus drivers holiday, my fucks are normally very low. That said this is probably the second Marvel film I actually liked.
It has loads of holes, most should have been handled better but there was something in this film and I like how the characters were surprisingly raw and honest. Which I liked.
- What was the other one you liked?noneck
- Thormugwart
- Thor? Not what I expected. It wasn't bad, but for some reason, everything happening on Earth had a made for TV quality vibe to it, IMO.ETM
- It was how the team played it. Haven't been a fan of anything else. Dr Strange (fan of the comic) was such a let down.mugwart
- IT'S GOT A FUCKING RACCOON! WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE!! :Dpango
- SHIT TALKING NUKE BUILDING RACCOON!!pango
- and thor has natalie portmanmoldero
- Lol she is trying her best not to be in marvel movie right nowpango
- Wolfboy3
I like the fact that the colour scheme of the film is LOL cube.
- inteliboy0
It's pretty good, I liked it better than the first. Not big into the superhero thing but this film is good fun. Also has amazing stylistic CG work to nerd out over.

LOL cube aside, I really enjoyed it. Like many, I really liked the first one so I was a little worried about them living up to the standards they set (and without the advantage of being a surprise hit).
I liked that they set it close enough to the first so that Groot was a baby and the dynamics of the group were changed through that. The music, the gags, the pop-culture references were all there and were generally landed well.
FIVE post credit stings as well! Of which the Groot one did make me chuckle.
The one thing I would say is the casting of Stallone did take me out of the moment. When ever I see him in just about anything but a Rocky film I'm instantly thinking 'oh look, there's Sly Stalone'. But on the whole I thought it hit the mark really well.

just watched it yesterday and I loved it
rocket has amazing acting, with some moments with just his face full on the screen

this was played twice in the movie,
so whoever wrote it is gonna be minted now- US #1 in 1972
UK #51Gardener - nice that this made it! been one of my favorite old songs since college. it's totally misogynistic if you listen to it carefully. brandy is a penelope.sarahfailin

oh, just reminded of a line of the movie
"I'm marry poppins y'all!" hahahah

Visually pleasing of course but the story is shit... the bad guy in this movie is a joke. Fuck you Disney. The first one is better by far. This was like watching a scifi version of Pirates of the Caribbean with silly jokes every 5 mins.
- I'm Mary poppins y'all!pango
- taserface!ernexbcn
- Yeah, most of the jokes weren't very funny and they tried to combat this low quality with quantity.MondoMorphic
- I completely agree, felt forced.Knuckleberry
- I think there could have been more build up of the father storyline intertwined with gamora and nebula... Yondu and rocket tho had a satisfying story. imhodorkKn1ght
- disliked the Groot dance sequence (blatant one upping sequel garbo). Drax was a bit much but he had great moments with that empath.dorkKn1ght
- His old man just appears in the comics, well, the wank Bendis reboot from a couple of years ago. Before that, in the Lanning books, barely anything.face_melter
- Y'all should check out the Abnett/Lanning GotG books - absolute quality, with the best version of Star-Lordface_melter

I really liked them and I get to enjoy them with my kids :)
Pratt is great! and Bradley Cooper kills it as Rocket.
