Thoughts / Discussion Thread...
I haven't spent much time looking at it, yet, but keen to hear others views on it... what to watch etc.
I'm personally interested in the production side aspect of it - of how to really use the Vertical / Horizontal for story telling etc...

5-10 min per episode is a deal-breaker...

isn't this the massively expensive flop where the senior management is no longer talking to each other?
- pango0
do you have to watch it on the phone?

Yes - that’s their “the ng” bit vertical and horizontally

Having short films, skits, clips, etc...is really strong concept. If only Quibi had an enormous archive of material to pull from, this platform could be a huge success.

wow - that didnt last long...
$2.5bn ---- DANG !

That's a shame. My old mate was directing a new short series for the platform. Hope it gets picked up somewhere else.
- Apparently Quibi contracts required exclusivity for 3 years, so I wonder if your mate will have to wait.evilpeacock

Not surprised. I think we're at streaming platform saturation already, and with so many people working from home the appeal of a commuter-friendly format was poorly timed.

When a CEO of an entertainment company says "I’m not sure I’d classify myself as an entertainment enthusiast", there's gonna be some problems.

They were giving away 90 days free subscription at the beginning. You could finish an entire season of a show in an hour. By the time the 90 days was up you could have watched everything on Quibi twice. I liked the idea and some of the content was fun, but like everyone else, I cancelled before the 90 days was up.
