i had a sony mp3 player - not this one - about 18 months ago, and the main problem was that sony are anal regarding 'stolen'(!!!) mp3s. very often i'd attempt to put an album on the player and it would say ' we cannot find the copyright information for this mp3 on your machine. it will not be transferred' (or something like that). no matter what you did, you couldn't get it on there.
make sure you find out about that before you do anything.
unless, of course, you are a very nice person and only convert CDs that you have bought to mp3 :)
