Where I work, this is basicly the process.
Fashion Designers (designs the sketch) >> Pattern Makers (based on the sketch, creates a techniqual dissection of the garment) >> Graphic designers (creates prints or embroideries if needed) Cutters (cuts out the fabric) >> Sewer (puts the stuff together) >> the Fitters (tries the clothes on fitting models to check for flaws)
Yes you can do all this by yourself, but it's not easy. Actually it depends. If you wanna create one piece for you only. Then its fairly easy. But if you wanna create a couple copies at different sizes, It gets harder.
