ah its actually really easy... was being an idiot by parsing the variable I didn't need... in the params just have...
'src', 'workaround?shortcutEditor=',
and
'movie', 'workaround?shortcutEditor=',
I'm using a php insert here... but you just put your ?vars= after the movie name and the javascript will insert the .swf
for example...make sure you do both as one is for embed and the other activeX
