agreed with the last 2, 20K is a big hit. Benefits don't cost that much. If they are trying to bring you in from freelance to FT then they are trying to save money. Most companies don't make that switch out of kindness. It must benefit them in some way.
But i'm sure they will pretty much force you/him to take it. Get your folio ready if you/he don't plan on taking it. Best to be ready
