Are you serious about the fact that just because someone is from a certain race, they can't be accused of racism related to that creed?

That's ridiculous. it's like the where do we stand on the word nigger? as I for one don't know it's connotations anymore - if it was once used to oppress people and is now reclaimed by the very people it oppressed, how long is this meant to eradicate thoughts of where the word came from in the first place. the world is definately and demonstrably becoming more racist, whether we like it or not. It's a vicious circle.

Yes, other people believe it's okay to use the word because the people in the offended community are using it themselves. I used to think this was okay because the people being at the end of the racist comment were using it themselves, and only within their own 'people', but I also realize that this only sustains the word. You can't hide the word, obviously, but continually using it only makes it like 'fuck' now....it doesn't have the same effect as it used to, whatever that means. And so other people believe it's okay to use a racist word all the time, even in public with random people around them.

"Fuck" is a bit different b/c it also depends on the person using it, because if someone who never swears uses it it's because they want to get a certain effect out of it. And it's not a racist thing.
