    yeah, the whole AT&T thing taking over Cingular had been in the works for a while. Most of the reasoning is based on market share and awareness. AT&T has a stronger brand worldwide then Cingular, and they are going to start gradually changing all the cingular ads now, showing the branding with the AT&T globe.

    AT&T also offeres other services like internet, home phones, business packages, etc... a "all-in-one" company.

    what is going to suck is that if you want an iPhone, no matter if you ahve a Cingular plan or not now, you will have to become a AT&T customer and they will have a lockdown on some pretty pricey $$ plans. No competition on that.
