i have a macbook pro, and before a powerbook, with modul8 i never had to put the videos down to 15 fps, the performance was allways good and fast, motiondive is really cool, but it is old, i dont remember when it was last time updated, maybe in 98 (i might be wrong).
when i started using modul8, i didnt even needed a controler, i set the keyshortucts my self, whatever i wanted, with modul8.
now it has more effects, you can use different layers, etc. check it out for your self.
im not good at giving comparisons, so get the demos and youll see.
by the way, i use vdmx www.vidvox.com you might wanna try it.
also in modul8 and vdmx you can load quartz composer patches.
they are just more advanced.
