Shit happens tho. Same thing happened me a couple years ago. Canned after 7 & 1/2 yrs.
Something will come your way. Just don't be afraid to explore different avenues and media. After loosin that job, I worked in a stained glass studio for a year and something, making a lot less money, but was one of the best experiences for me.
At least you don't have to be anywhere on Monday.
